CHAPTER 9: A VERY STRANGE DAY (EPILOGUE)

A grim smile followed by an orange eye and a sound “WAKE UP!” awoke Dark Knight from his sleep.

The dark-grey stallion jumped in his bed all sweating and breathing deeply. He looked from all the corners of the room looking for something, but he found nothing.

Knight looked at his side and saw Emerald sleeping like a little angel. She looked so peaceful and calm in her sleep that Knight tried his best to not wake her up while he got out of bed.

He smiled while leaving the room and looking back at her. Only then he closed the door and entered the hallway.

Knight walked towards the door that was right beside his bedroom door and opened it, but the beds in there were empty. The place was filled with posters of famous bands and toys for little fillies.

“Already up?” he asked himself and proceeded to go downstairs.

When he arrived at the living room he stumbled and fell to the floor with his head aching. The entire room was spinning, and inside his head there was a voice echoing.

“It’s time…” it said.

And then suddenly the ache passed and the room returned to its normal state.

Knight stood up leaning himself on the couch and breathing heavily.

He took time to set his head right and it was when the back door opened and two voices were heard in the kitchen.

“That was fun!” this voice was sweet and young, a fillies voice “I told you I learned how to use the flames!”

“You sure did!” this voice was much mature than the first one, a young mare’s voice “I loved how you made that ring of fire and made that dragon fly through it!”

And then two fillies entered the living room.

The one on the right was indeed a little earth-pony filly; she had between six and seven years old, she was white, her mane had the color of fire and her eyes were white. The one on the left was a white pegasi who had red and orange mane and had her right eye a deep blue and her left eye an inferno red, her cutie mark was a lamp filled with golden fire and a red heart inside of it.

“Daddy!” Flame Jewel, the little filly, ran towards Knight and jumped on the couch “Good morning!”

“Hey my little filly!” Knight kissed her forehead and caressed her mane “Good morning sweetie.”

“Good morning Dad” Holly Sunlight, the pegasi mare, approached Knight and kissed his cheek “How was your night?”

Knight looked at her and smiled. She had grown so fast in the years that passed; it seemed to him that the other day she learned to fly. She had become a beautiful mare.

“It was great sweetheart.” He lied.

Holly looked concerned.

“No nightmares?” she asked.

Knight rolled his eyes.

“Yes sweetie, no nightmares.” He lied again.

Holly smiled and kissed his cheek again.

“Come on Flamy, you have school today.” Holly told her little sister “You don’t want to be late.”

“Do I have to go?” she asked “Whimsy Shine will make fun of me again…”

Holly rolled her eyes and putted her hoof under Flame’s chin.

“Listen to me.” She said “The next time Whimsy Shine bullies you just ignore her! She’s not worth your time and your worries!”

Flame looked with sad eyes to Dark Knight and he sighed.

“Your sister knows what she’s saying, dear…” he said “She was bullied as well and she did the same thing. You’re a great filly and you are better than her! So don’t pay attention to her and go enjoy yourself with your friends!”

She gave them a little smile, hugged them both and jumped off the couch running straight up to her room to get ready.

“Price told me that his mother is coming for the weekend” Holly told him “So you’re going to work the whole weekend, is that…”

“I assume I have to.” He told her “I’m her bodyguard here in Ponyville, I guess it is my duty…”

She sat down and looked to him.

“I know…” she said “But mom’s birthday is this Saturday and you…”

Knight stood and putted his hoof over her shoulder.

“I would never miss your mother’s birthday sweetie” he told her “When I ever missed it?”
Holly smiled.

“Now I will take a walk…” Make sure that your sister gets to school well Ok?”

“I will!” she stood and went upstairs to help Flame to get ready.

He looked up and smiled, they were his little fillies and he was so proud of them. When Flame Jewel was born Knight got surprised, his daughter had white eyes; the clear sign of a BroKeN, but that wasn’t a problem to him. And when she shot her first fire ball at the curtain they got scared at first, but Knight knew that it wasn’t her fault and those powers could be controlled.

Knight went outside; he wasn’t even wearing his armor that day. He went to the hill where he had his first date with Emerald and sat there to think.

But it was there that it happened again. His head started to ache, but this time like it never had before. He suppressed a scream of pain and when he looked up he wasn’t in Equestria anymore. He was on top of a castle made of dark stone, behind him there was a window and when he looked forward he realized something.

That the Firelands had never been so active before.

Dragons were flying around every corner of it. Some of them were carrying liquid-metal, already forged armors and giant swords, axes and spears. That behavior was different of the one that the books in Equestria told about them.

Knight couldn’t believe in what he was seeing. He stepped back and forgot that there was a window behind him. He passed through it like it was nothing and fell.

When he hit the floor he immediately got up ready for a fight, but what he saw made his legs shake and not sustain him up.

There was a huge black and red dragon was sitting on a dark throne and around him there were lots and lots of dragonesses just lying there caressing his feet, legs and arms. At his right side there was a huge black sword being held by a statue and at his left side there was another dragoness, but this one was more “well behaved” than the other ones that were caressing him.

“Milord Geist!” a male blue and white dragon entered the room.

Geist raised his head to look at the dragon.

“Yes?” he asked.

The dragon bowed before Geist.

“Milord, the supplies are ready for the march.” He told the Overlord “Also our armament is almost complete and all the infantry is ready. All of us are just awaiting your command.”

Geist rose from his throne and smiled to his servant, all the dragonesses raised as well and stood right at his side, but they opened way to the dragoness that was always by his left.

“Great…” Geist said while widening his smile “Order the troops to prepare to move out… Tell them that the time has come. The time that we take over our rightful place in the world! The day we take Equestria!”

Knight couldn’t even say anything.

The soldier saluted the Overlord and flew as quickly as he could to give the orders.
Geist turned to his concubines and opened his arms.

“My sweet girls…” he said “Our time has come! Go prepare yourselves; I’m going to need your services on this trip towards our destiny!”

All of them giggled and flew away to do as he ordered, but that dragoness who stayed over his left stood there. But Geist wasn’t bored, or nervous with her. He turned towards her and putted his huge hands over her shoulders.

She looked up to him with her bright blue eyes and putted her hands over his.

“Are you sure about this honey?” she asked “You can still stop this…”

“This is our right my dear mother…” Geist said “We have been stuck on these lands for too long… We will claim our rightful place in the world!”

“He’ll not hold back Graiza…” a female voice came from behind one of the pillars and the two of them turned around to see a shining-red dragon who had eyes like two big emeralds looking at them “He is too stubborn for that…”

Geist did not look pissed at her, he was pleased.

“I know Freya…” Graiza said “I just had to try…”

Geist smiled at them.

“I’m lucky to have both of you at my side during this time…” he said while pulling both of them in a hug “Once I achieve my goal I’ll guarantee you both all your inner desirers!”

Freya pulled his head and gave him a passionate kiss.

“You know what I truly want…” she said and that made Geist smile.

“Everything in its own time my dear…” he told her.

Graiza putted her head below Geist’s chin and grabbed his amulet. The amulet that Geist had when she first found him between the wreckages of the village that he used to live.

“You were just a little baby when Sharia and I found you…” she said “Just a small baby dragon that couldn’t even fend for himself… We raised you and we saw you grow strong and bigger than we ever imagined… We were so proud of you when you took this place for you!”

Geist putted his finger under her chin and smiled.

“And I’ll make you even prouder…” he said “Equestria will belong to us… And soon the whole world will belong to the Draconic Empire!”

The two females hugged Geist and he did it as well.

“Now it’s time for you two to get ready” he said “I must concentrate. The first act of our play starts soon!”

Graiza and Freya left the room and Geist looked towards where Knight was and smiled.

“Now you see why I told you some years ago” he said “That you can’t stop me… I’m on a mission Knight. A mission to give my kind the respect and the place they deserve!”

Knight got up, his legs were still shaking by the sight of the enormous black dragon in front of him.

“A-Are you telling me that…” he started “Y-You are going to declare war against Equestria?”

Geist smiled.

“No…” he told him “I’m declaring that Equestria will be destroyed and the Draconic Empire will rise strong!”

Knight raised his head; he was confronting his deepest fear, but he had to say something.

“I’ll warn the Princesses now that I know of this…” he said “You know that right?”

Geist smiled.

“I don’t think so…” he said “Because all starts today… And it will come with a Shining Metal Abomination…”

The Dragon Overlord snapped his fingers and Knight awoke in the hill next Ponyville.

It was already night time. He stood there for hours and didn’t even see the time passing.

“Fuck!” he stood up “I have to tell the Princesses! I have to…”

He stopped when he turned around. There standing right in front of him was a white unicorn mare, who had orange eyes, blue mane and her cutie mark was a bell.

He stood there frozen while that cute mare looked at him. She did not look pleased, but neither mad. Knight knew her, from when he went to Lacrimis.

“You…” he said “I thought you were…”

She raised an eyebrow.

“I was?” she asked.

Knight looked inside her eyes.

“Bellchime?” he asked.

She shook her head.

“My name is Libel-chem…” she said “And you are Dark Knight…”

He looked at her analyzing everything on her and there was something different. Bellchime never had metallic hooves, nor did her tail was pointy and neither had she…

“Wings…” he said “You have wings…”

“I always had wings.” She told him.

He shook his head.

“No, you didn’t.” he said “When I first saw you in Lacrimis you weren’t like this you were…”

“We never saw each other before.” She said.

Knight didn’t understand. Did she forget?

“I gave you the Element of Harmony that you were looking for. I…” he stopped when he felt something in the air.

It was getting denser.

He looked up and saw that the night sky was getting weird. The dark color of it was changing to a dark purple and then back to the usual dark and again to purple. The Moon was turning into different colors all the time as well. Something was very wrong.

“And now you die…” a deep male voice said and when Knight looked at Libel-chem he saw that her teeth had become sharper and that her hooves started to grow claws.

“What…” he tried.

She started to grow and to change. Her body was now completely changed, her face got a lozenge form and her horn was gone, soon Libel-chem was no longer there, but a Metallic Dragon stood in her place.

“… Dark Knight!” he shouted making the ground quake.

Knight stepped back trying to keep himself together.

“Well…” he said “This is a very strange day…”
